Sustainability
Better coffee.
Better future.
Everything we do is designed to leave the land, the farmers, and the communities we work with better than we found them.

Our Commitments
Three pillars.
One direction.
Our sustainability framework is built around farmers, land, and community — in that order.
Direct trade.
Real prices.
We work directly with the Coopacvod cooperative, cutting out every middleman and paying prices that reflect the true quality of the coffee and the true cost of farming it sustainably at altitude. No spot market. No commodity pricing. No compromise.
Farming that
lasts forever.
Every farm we source from uses shade-growing and agroforestry practices that protect biodiversity, prevent erosion, and maintain the highland ecosystem that makes Haitian Blue unique. No clear-cutting. No synthetic fertilizers. No shortcuts.
Investment, not
extraction.
5% of every sale goes into the Coopacvod Education Fund, which supports children of cooperative farming families. We're also co-funding a solar-powered processing station in Thiotte that will open in late 2026.

Our Founding Partner
Coopacvod
Cooperative
Founded in 1984, Coopacvod is one of the oldest and most respected coffee cooperatives in Haiti, operating in the Thiotte highlands at elevations between 1,000 and 1,600 meters.
They've been growing exceptional coffee for decades. They were the first cooperative we partnered with — and the standard every future partner must meet.

Our Packaging
No plastic. No compromise.
Every element of our packaging was chosen to minimize waste without sacrificing freshness or quality.
Compostable Bags
Our coffee bags are made from compostable kraft paper with a plant-based inner lining. Drop them in your compost bin — they'll break down within 180 days.
Freshness Without Plastic
Our one-way degassing valve is made from a non-toxic, plant-based material. Keeps your coffee fresh for 6+ months — no petroleum-based plastics involved.
Minimal by Design
We print with soy-based inks on unbleached materials. No foil. No laminate. No labels that need to be separated for recycling. The simpler the better.

Our Pledge
This is what we're
committed to.
Not aspirational goals. Actual commitments — the things we hold ourselves accountable to every time we source, roast, and ship a bag of coffee.
Pay 2.4× above commodity price, always
No exceptions. No renegotiation at harvest. The price is set at the start of the season.
5% to our partner cooperative education funds
Every sale, every year. We publish the totals annually and share them directly with each cooperative.
100% recyclable or compostable packaging by 2026
Already achieved. We're now working on a closed-loop bag return program.
Full lot traceability on every bag
Every QR code links directly to the harvest lot, farmer cooperative, and processing data.
Carbon-neutral shipping by 2027
Currently calculating our shipping footprint. Offset program launches Q1 2027.
Taste the difference
Every cup is a
vote for better.
When you choose Bèl Mòn, you're choosing a different kind of coffee company.
